Sustainable tourism
Travellers want real villages, not film sets. Charming accommodation and local experiences are in demand well beyond summer.
Jobs, businesses, homes and grants to start a new chapter in a village.
Examples
No need to invent anything odd. These four sectors already work in rural Spain and still have room.

With fibre, the postcode hardly matters. Design, programming or online admin work just as well from a village square as from a capital.
From bulk to your own brand: cheese, honey, wine or preserves with a name and origin sell better than raw produce alone.
Rural populations are ageing and need services close to home. Home care, physiotherapy or podiatry reach where nobody does today.
Three general facts about rural Spain. They're indicative: every village is different and it's worth checking on the ground.
30-40% menos
Living in a village costs on average 30-40% less than in a provincial capital, mostly thanks to housing. An indicative estimate: it depends on the area.

85% del territorio
85% of Spain's territory is rural yet holds only 16% of the population. There's plenty of space; what's missing is neighbours.

District fibre
Fibre optic already reaches most district capitals and keeps spreading. Check your village's exact coverage before deciding.

Typical stories, no names: what we usually see when this goes well.
A working oven, an established clientele and the flour supplier of a lifetime. He learned the trade from the former owner during the handover.
Lesson: A living business saves years of start-up. Always ask whether the owner can stay on for the first few months.
They tried a whole year before committing: the school, the winter, the neighbours. They bought when it was no longer a leap in the dark.
Lesson: Renting first reduces the risk of picking the wrong village. The option to buy fixes the price from the start.
Three remote workers from neighbouring villages who got tired of working alone. They rented premises in the district capital and shared them.
Lesson: You don't need city numbers: just bring together the people already there. The town council usually has empty premises going cheap.

Sorted by connection quality
It's a score from 0 to 100 based on the percentage of homes in the municipality that have each type of coverage: fibre to the home counts for 40 %, connections of 100 Mb or more for 20 %, 4G for 20 % and 5G for another 20 %. Any figure that isn't published counts as zero.
It measures coverage, not the actual speed on your street: check with your provider before you move. Villages with the same score are listed first if they have a health centre, school, pharmacy and supermarket.
