Village
Valle de Villaverde (Basque: Villaverde Ibarra; also, until 2005, Villaverde de Trucíos; Truciosko Villaverde) is a town and municipality in the autonomous community of Cantabria, Spain. It is surrounded by the Basque municipalities of Carranza, Arcentales, and Trucíos, but the town belongs to the administration of the government of Cantabria. Thus, it is an enclave of Biscay and an exclave of Cantabria.
In the south of the municipality are the headwaters of the Río Agüera, whose valley includes altitudes of more than 400 metres (1,300 feet). The municipality is crossed from west to east by the Santander-Bilbao railway line operated by FEVE.

What people eat in Cantabria when they eat well.
White beans with cabbage and cured meats; the dish the northern weather calls for.
Hand-filleted one by one; the most serious tins on the Cantabrian coast.
Butter, sugar and egg from the Pas valleys; for breakfast or a snack.
Moist fresh-milk dessert, baked slowly.
Almost every village has its market day and its producers: the cheesemaker, the baker, the vegetable garden next door. Ask at the tourist office or the bar on the square; they'll tell you where to buy straight from the maker.
We haven't confirmed Valle de Villaverde's market day. Every village has its own: better to ask than to make it up.
